Dr. Kelvin Franke, DO - Board-Certified Physiatrist

Kelvin Franke, DO

Medical Director - Board-Certified PM&R

Dr. Franke is a board-certified physiatrist with over 17 years of clinical experience in the Greater Seattle area. Following a tenure in orthopedic surgery groups and over a decade specializing in complex spine and sports medicine, he launched Sound Injury & Electrodiagnostics - an independent physiatry clinic focusing on motor vehicle injury recovery, electrodiagnostics, and Osteopathic rehabilitation.

A Vision for Dual Recovery

Dr. Franke approaches injury care with a unique vision: to create a space where physical rehabilitation and mental health support work side-by-side. By collaborating closely with counseling professionals, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other specialists, he addresses the "whole person" reality of trauma - offering patients a coordinated approach where physical and emotional recovery happen together.

Granite stone monument at clinic entrance - yin-yang tree with roots and the inscription: Care that looks below the surface

Our Philosophy

Care That Looks Below the Surface

The granite monument at our entrance captures what Sound Injury stands for. The tree and its roots - visible and hidden, above and below - reflect our belief that real recovery requires looking deeper than imaging and exam findings alone.

Physical injury changes how the nervous system processes the world. Pain, guarding, sleep disruption, and emotional distress are not separate problems - they are layers of the same injury. Our dual recovery approach treats them together, because that is how they heal.

The yin-yang motif of tree and roots represents the Osteopathic principle that structure and function are inseparable - and that what grows above depends entirely on what is nourished below.

A Thoughtful Clinical Environment

Recovery happens in a space designed for healing - where natural light, modern diagnostics, and calm professionalism support your journey back to health.
